We are pleased to announce an important update regarding the version numbering system of our custom plugins, designed to enhance consistency and usability alongside the XenForo core platform.
Previously, our plugins utilized an independent versioning schema starting with 1.0.0. To align with the XenForo core product (currently at version 2.3.8) and simplify version recognition for all users, we have upgraded the plugin version numbers to follow a unified format: 2.3.8.x.x.
This adjustment brings several benefits:
  • Clearer alignment with the XenForo core version, making it easier to identify compatibility between our plugins and your XenForo installation.
  • Streamlined version management for both individual users and administrators managing multiple plugins.
  • A more intuitive upgrade path for future updates, ensuring consistency across your entire XenForo ecosystem.
Key Details:
  • New Version Format: 2.3.8.x.x (the trailing two segments will increment with subsequent plugin updates, while the first three segments mirror the XenForo core version).
  • Compatibility: All updated plugins remain fully compatible with XenForo 2.3.8. No additional adjustments are required for existing installations—this is a version numbering change only, not a functional rewrite.
  • Upgrade Process: When updating your plugins, you will see the new version number reflected in the XenForo admin panel and update notifications.
